For nearly 50 years, the Bayou Catholic has served as the official publication of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. Published in print and digital formats by the Office of Communications, each issue follows the liturgical seasons. Our mission is to help readers grow in faith, connect with the diocese and one another, and preserve our rich Catholic history.

We accomplish this through faith-led journalism that covers the life and events of our local Church, spiritually formative content that inspires deeper faith, and encouragement for everyone, wherever they are on their faith journey. Through it all, we seek to form minds, open hearts and help every reader grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
